Tottenham Hotspur Football Club won’t waste their time bidding for Joe Cole.

The table-topping Londoners have been linked with a £10million bid for the England international, who is in the final year of his contract at Chelsea.

Harry Redknapp, the Spurs manager, knows Cole well from their time at West Ham United, but he refuses to believe the midfielder could be available.

"Joe Cole is a fantastic player but he is at Chelsea and he is going to stay at Chelsea. There is nothing in that whatsoever,” he told Sky Sports.

"Any team would like Joe but he is not a player I have even made a phone call about because I don't think it would be possible to get him. He belongs to Chelsea.”
