Harry Redknapp has revealed Blackburn Rovers are closing on Pascal Chimbonda.

With Stephen Warnock set to join Aston Villa, Sam Allardyce has moved to take the Tottenham Hotspur fullback in a deal worth a fee in the region of £2million.

“We sold Chimbonda," Spurs boss Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "Well I think he was sold, he came up on the plane then he travelled across to Blackburn I think.

"The chairman agreed a fee with Blackburn for him so he travelled over there. I don't know if the deal has been done but certainly it's very close to being done.”
