Bolton Wanderers boss unhappy with Davis red card
Gary Megson believes Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva conned the referee on Saturday afternoon.
Bolton Wanderers led the Reds twice at the Reebok Stadium, but the visitors fought back on both occasions and stole the points with a late Steven Gerrard goal.
The turning point in the game was the dismissal of Sean Davis for two bookable offences, the last Alan Wiley felt was needed due to a foul on Lucas which Megson doesn’t agree with.
"I'm not too sure if every club would have somebody sent-off in the instance," he told Sky Sports. "I can think of maybe five or six clubs that wouldn't (get a red card), we're not one of those five or six.
"It's clever - you get hold of that ball you slow down and wait for the hit and over you go. It happened just in front of me in the first half and it's clever and it's cute.
"We haven't got that so we either have to accept it or we have to start copying what everybody else does or we have to hope that the referees are going to realise what's going on and it's a bit soft."
