West Ham United miss out on Gudjohnsen
10:30 AM 01 September, 2009
Eidur Gudjohnsen has agreed a two-year deal with Monaco.

The Icelandic international joined Barcelona from Chelsea in 2006, but he has failed to nail down a regular place in a side which won The Treble during the 2008/09 season.

Gianfranco Zola, who played with the 30-year-old at Stamford Bridge, was keen to take the player to West Ham United this summer to bolster his attacking options.

However, it has now been confirmed that Gudjohnsen has agreed a two-year deal with Monaco, who have paid an undisclosed fee for his signature.
