Johnny Heitinga is on Merseyside to discuss a potential move to Everton Football Club.

The Toffees have had an offer of £5million accepted by Atletico Madrid for the Dutch international, who is now set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with the Premier League side.

David Moyes has cash to spend following the £24million sale of Joleon Lescott to Manchester City, and he has also paid £5million to take Sylvain Distin from Portsmouth.

The addition of Heitinga, who can play in the heart of the back four or at right-back, would further add to his options, although there is a worry that the 25-year-old’s wage demands could scupper the move.
