David Bentley heads to Anfield to sign for Liverpool?
03:45 PM 01 September, 2009
David Bentley is reportedly heading to Anfield to discuss a transfer to Liverpool Football Club.

The England international midfielder started the day being heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, who are managed by his former Blackburn Rovers coach Mark Hughes.

However, the Blues insist their summer spending has finished, and now talkSPORT claim Bentley is indeed in the North West...but heading to Merseyside to discuss a move to the Reds.

The 25-year-old has been a huge disappointment since signing for Tottenham Hotspur in a £15million deal last summer, and he is out of favour under manager Harry Redknapp.

It remains to be seen if there is any substance in the speculation about his potential move to Rafael Benitez’s side, and whether any possible move will be permanent or on loan.

I thought Angel Di Maria or Renato Augusto would have been better options then Bentley why go for someone who caused trouble cant drive for year.
