Hesselink instantly attracted by Hull City
06:00 PM 03 September, 2009
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is relishing the opportunity handed to him by Hull City Football Club.

The 30-year-old Dutch international was a free agent this summer after leaving Celtic at the end of last season, and was therefore able to move outside of the transfer window.

Tigers manager Phil Brown, who has endured his fair share of disappointment during the summer, has signed the striker on a two-year deal, and the player is delighted with the move.

"I looked at other clubs and held talks with them, but I didn't get the right feeling from them," Hesselink told the official club website. "When I came to Hull City, I got the right feeling straight away.

“I am glad that everything has worked out OK and I am now looking forward to the challenge of playing in the biggest league in the world. It will give me the opportunity to get back into the Dutch squad."
