Maik Taylor is determined to win back his Birmingham City jersey from Joe Hart.

The 38-year-old goalkeeper is yet to start a Premier League game for the Blues this season, following the loan signing of Manchester City’s England hopeful Hart.

However, the Northern Ireland international is determined to fight his rival all the way for the right to keep goal for the Midlands side, as he looks to play his part this season.

"It is a case of knuckling down, working hard and hopefully I will get an opportunity again," said Taylor. "I have been in a similar situation before and came back fighting.

“My aim now is to push Joe all the way. If I am offering competition to Joe that makes him perform better and gets us results, then great. It's not ideal for me, but at least I am contributing.”
