Lee needs time at Bolton Wanderers
06:09 PM 07 September, 2009
Gary Megson has urged the Bolton Wanderers fans to be patient with Lee Chung-Yong.

The 21-year-old South Korean international was a summer arrival at the Reebok Stadium, and he has made two substitute appearances in the Premier League so far.

Megson is sure the midfielder will make a big impact in the Whites side eventually, but for the time being, he has asked the fans to show the former FC Seoul star patience.

"He has done OK from what we have seen from him so far," Megson told the Bolton News. "Physique-wise, you can see that he isn't strong enough yet and not capable of going through an hour and a half.

“But all that really does is emphasise the difference between the league here in England and that in South Korea. He has got to be given time, and not just a matter of weeks.

“It is impossible to judge on what we have seen so far because he has only been here for such a short space of time. Making that kind of move must be difficult for anyone.

"He has done okay so far. He has gone on a couple of times as a substitute and you can see right away that defensively he's nowhere near at the moment.

"But when he has got the ball at his feet, he has got that ability to go past people. He has a tremendous awareness about him, which will bode really well in the future."
