Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill is delighted with the early season form of Gabriel Agbonlahor.

The young striker burst onto the scene during the 2006/07 season for the Midlands club, but he endured an inconsistent nine months during the last campaign.

However, it looks as though Agbonlahor, who has two England caps, is closing on his best form, after a good performance in the win at Liverpool and fine goal in the defeat of Fulham.

"He's getting that bit more confident now,” O’Neill told AVTV. "I just think that he should be able to take this form on for the foreseeable future."
