Peter Reid has been confirmed as assistant manager of Stoke City Football Club.

The former England midfielder had been locked in talks with the Thai FA over his release as national team coach, and an agreement has now been reached.

"I've come to an agreement with the Thai FA," Reid told Stoke's official website. "They've been very helpful and I've got a great relationship with the chairman Worawi Makudi.

"I would like to go on record in thanking them for everything. The pull of working with Tony Pulis and a club like Stoke City, in the Premier League, was just too great to turn down."
