William Gallas is set to be rewarded with a new contract at Arsenal Football Club.

Question marks were raised against the future of the France international this summer, when Arsene Wenger paid £10million to take Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax.

However, Gallas, 32-years-old, has enjoyed a fine start to the season, and with his deal set to expire in the summer, he is set to be offered fresh terms.

"I will assess William's contract in December but the signs are good for him," Wenger said in the News of the World. "He and Vermaelen look comfortable together.”
