Danny Shittu has snubbed a move to Sheffield United Football Club.

The defender is well down the pecking order at Bolton Wanderers, who signed Zat Knight to partner Gary Cahill in the heart of the back four during the summer.

Shittu was lined up to join the Blades on a three-month loan deal, but the Daily Mirror claim he has rejected the move as he doesn’t want to drop into the Championship.

It is believed the Nigerian will spend the rest of the year trying to force his way into the Whites side, in the hope a Premier League side will show interest in January.
