West Bromwich Albion hail Bednar
05:30 PM 15 October, 2008
West Bromwich Albion Football Club boss Tony Mowbray has hailed Roman Bednar.

The 25-year-old Czech striker has forced his way into the Baggies side this season and has scored three times, but Mowbray believes there is more to come from the player.

"Behind that comical personality he's got he's quite a driven individual. When he wasn't in our team and was grumpy I could still see a very focused individual," Mowbray told the Express & Star.

"In training, every time he rammed one in the net it was almost a 'did you see that?' scenario. He's very focused and I'm pretty sure he sees every 90 minutes as an opportunity at the moment for recognition.

"I don't know what his driving force is. It might be to get into the national team. It might be to cement a place in our starting line-up, to know he is a stick-on Premier League player for the next ten years.

"That's got to be a driving force for any player."
