Nugent playing for permanent Burnley stay
10:15 AM 21 September, 2009
David Nugent admits he is eager to seal a permanent move to Burnley Football Club.

The striker moved from Preston North End to Portsmouth in a £6million transfer in 2007, but he struggled for form on the South Coast.

The Clarets took Nugent on loan on deadline day and he scored twice from the bench to beat Sunderland 3-1 on Saturday, and he aims to seal a permanent switch to Turf Moor.

"Everybody makes mistakes and I definitely made a mistake moving down south," he said. "I hardly played and when I did I was used as a winger rather than a striker.

"I am here until January and there is an option to extend the loan. Hopefully I can make it permanent."
