Lescott: Manchester City were just not good enough
Joleon Lescott is refusing to blame the officials for Manchester City Football Club’s late lapse at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Just as Craig Bellamy looked to have secured a 3-3 draw against United with a 90th minute equaliser, Michael Owen grabbed a winner for the Reds in the 96th.
"You're disappointed to lose any game - we thought we'd done enough to get a point, but it wasn't to be," Lescott told the club's official website.
"There are no excuses. We are pros and we have to look at ourselves collectively and as individuals and realise that it just wasn't good enough.”
