Patrice Evra insists United have proved they are the best team in Manchester.

The Reds saw off the challenge of City in a thumping derby match at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, when Michael Owen’s stoppage time goal gave the home side a 4-3 win.

“It is one of the best derby games in the world," Evra told skysports.com. “Today we showed that we are still the best in the city. We should have won by a bigger margin.”

This was City’s first defeat of the new season, whilst United continue to chase early pace-setters Chelsea who have won all of their opening six fixtures.
