Are Manchester City really upset with Neville antics?
It is being reported that Mark Hughes is unhappy with Gary Neville’s reactions when Manchester United scored a dramatic winner at Old Trafford.
The City boss was furious when Michael Owen popped up in the sixth minute of stoppage time to seal a dramatic 4-3 win, and he has let his feelings be known.
Neville, an unused substitute, celebrated the winner as if it secured the title itself, and this was something Hughes made reference to after the match.
"I saw Gary Neville running off like a lunatic," said the Blues boss. "What I saw reminded me of Sir Alex Ferguson and Brian Kidd (when United beat Sheffield Wednesday in 1993).
"It shows what it meant to them. It shows we can compete. We came back three times and showed great quality and character as a team."
Whilst it is being reported that the above comments reflects that Hughes is unhappy with Neville, it would appear as if that isn’t exactly the case – isn’t it more of a case that Hughes has used Neville’s celebrations to outline how far City have come in the terms of being a genuine rival to United?
