Gareth Barry is looking forward to his return to Aston Villa Football Club.

The England international ended his long association with the Midlands club in the summer, when he joined Manchester City in a £12million deal.

This came just twelve months after the midfielder angered fans by courting a move to Liverpool, but he is confident all has been forgiven ahead of his return on October 5.

"I am really looking forward to the return. There are people who say that I'll dread it, but I do think like that at all,” Barry told Voetbal International. "I always enjoyed my stay.

“I had wonderful moments and I see no reason why it won't be a pleasure. I don't see why we should speculate on the reception from the fans that I may get."

Carlos Tevez may offer Barry some words of advice, though, after the former Manchester United star had his every touch jeered at Old Trafford on Sunday!
