Phil Brown can’t wait to get Jimmy Bullard in a Hull City Football Club shirt.

The Tigers paid £5million to take the midfielder from Fulham last January, but he suffered a serious knee injury within minutes of making his debut.

A poor start to the season sees City already languishing in the bottom three, and they are looking towards Bullard to provide them with some inspiration upon his return.

"I'm having to fight the physio every day to get Jimmy out there because to me, he looks ready," said Brown. "I'd have no doubt the knee is okay.

“But it would be more to do with the effects of coming back too early. We have to be 100 per cent sure when Jimmy is released fully to the first-team squad."
