Sean Davis is unlikely to feature for Bolton Wanderers again this season.

The midfielder has been struggling with a knee injury of late, and the Whites feared the problem would only be rectified by surgery.

This has now been confirmed as the case, and although Gary Megson won’t confirm it, Davis is unlikely to play again until next season.

“We don't want to put a timescale on it because he will be given as long as it takes to regain his full fitness," Megson told the club's official website. "It is a disappointment for Sean and ourselves but injuries happen and we have got to deal with it."
