No consolation for Wolverhampton Wanderers
07:48 PM 27 September, 2009
There was no consolation for Wolverhampton Wanderers despite a spirited performance at the Stadium of Light on Sunday afternoon.

Wolves came back from 2-0 down to draw level with Sunderland, but the home side went on to score three more times in an exciting second half on Wearside.

“The result tells you everything, we have been beaten away from home," Mick McCarthy, the Wolverhampton manager, said on skysports.com.

"But we did play well we should have got something out of it. I felt we could win it at 2-2 we went for it without going gung-ho. I thought we deserved something."
