Middlesbrough Football Club would have little chance of luring Nigel Reo-Coker.

The midfielder faces an uncertain future at Aston Villa following a bust-up with manager Martin O’Neill, although he was back on the bench at the weekend.

It is being widely suggested that Villa will look to offload the former West Ham United ace in January, and the Sunday Sun claim Boro are interested.

However, Reo-Coker is hugely unlikely to consider a drop into the Championship, particularly as he has been linked with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur in the past.
