Xisco pleads for Newcastle United chance
09:30 PM 15 October, 2008
Xisco wants the chance to show his worth to Newcastle United Football Club.

The Spanish striker joined the Magpies on deadline day in a rather contentious move, as Kevin Keegan walked out hours later citing interference by the board in his transfer dealings.

The former Deportivo La Coruna ace scored on his debut in the 2-1 defeat to Hull City and although he has done little since, he is eager to be given a fair crack at becoming a hit at St James Park.

"I will get better and I will take my chance when it comes," Xisco told the Evening Chronicle. "Things always get better after more training and more games. And I hope that is the case at Newcastle.

"You always need to become more familiar with people when you arrive at a new club. I wanted to come and play in the Premier League because it is a big league.

“Along with La Liga, it is the strongest league in the world. Most players who have the opportunity to come here do so. And I just want to take my chance."
