Theo Walcott is sure Arsenal have another star in Thomas Vermaelen.

Since arriving in a £10million deal from Ajax in the summer, defender Vermaelen has proved his quality in keeping the goals out and scoring them at the other end.

"We've added to the squad with Thomas Vermaelen and for me he is a top lad. He's our top scorer too!” said Walcott. "He has settled in really well and he's such a nice guy.

“He's a very tough competitor. He has got an absolutely great leap on him too - he will win a header against anyone. I reckon he would beat Peter Crouch in the air."
