Steve Finnan expects to be paid by Portsmouth Football Club on Monday.

The Pompey players have not been paid for September yet, but they got on with their jobs on Saturday when they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0.

"I've just heard they are coming in on Monday," said Finnan. "It is not nice, but the lads have got on with it and against Wolves showed their spirit just to get on with their jobs.

"It is one of those things that doesn't happen too much to clubs. It is has not happened to me before. Everyone has got their views on it. Some were disappointed.

“Some were thinking it will be coming eventually. We are only human. Everyone has got their different opinion and everyone wants their money coming in."
