Martin O’Neill has likened Gabriel Agbonlahor to Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United’s Rooney has a huge appetite for the game, as often explained by Sir Alex Ferguson, and O’Neill believes his Aston Villa youngster is similar.

“Sir Alex Ferguson talks about Wayne Rooney have this great appetite to win matches, even five-a-side games,” he said in the News of the World.

“It is something which registers with Gabby. He will chase back forty or fifty yards, not just when he has lost the ball, but when others have lost it too.”
