James Milner has been hugely impressed with Aston Villa’s new defensive signings.

James Collins, Richard Dunne and Stephen Warnock have taken no time in settling into the Villa back four following summer moves, much to the pleasure of Milner.

“I'm delighted for the lads at the back. It is never easy moving club and settling in,” the midfielder told AVTV. "It takes you a while but they all seem to have slotted straight in.

“That's all credit to them. They are working as a unit straight away and you can see from our defensive record the last few games it has been very solid."
