Given urges Manchester City to push on
Shay Given has urged Manchester City Football Club to push on after the international break.
The Blues have made a fine start to the new season, and are currently in fourth place with a game in hand which could put them within two points of leaders Chelsea.
A short trip to Wigan Athletic is on the agenda when the Premier League resumes followed by the visit of Fulham, and Given is expecting maximum points.
"The next couple of games we are aiming for maximum points, and we still have a game in hand on teams around us. We are looking to get as close as we can,” he told the Manchester Evening News.
"It was important not to lose at Aston Villa, because now we can look forward to the next game and hopefully push on up the league. We hope to be still up there in spring.”
