Wigan Athletic star pleased with Steve Bruce exit
Olivier Kapo didn’t shed any tears when Steve Bruce left Wigan Athletic Football Club.
The French midfielder fell down the pecking order at the DW Stadium last season under Bruce, who quit the Latics for Sunderland during the summer.
Kapo, who is available again following a pre-season injury, is now back in contention, and he hopes to make his mark in the team under new boss Roberto Martinez.
“I want to be here at Wigan, where I'm happy,” he told the Evening Post. "Last season was very difficult for me, because I had problems with Steve Bruce. I don't have that now.
"If the team don't want me that's another question, but personally I want to play for Wigan Athletic, no one else. I have a three-year contract. I like Wigan. It's where I want to be. I want to stay."
