Sven Goran Eriksson believes Manchester City will eventually win the Premier League.

The Swede left Eastlands when he was shown the door in the summer of 2008, and he has since seen his successor Mark Hughes spend around £200million on the squad.

This has made the Blues dark horses for the title, particularly after their bright start to the season, and Eriksson believes they will eventually become Kings of England.

“Can they win the League? Of course they can,” he said. “It would be exceptional if they did, of course. Who knows in football? This season, perhaps, winning it would be too good to be true.

“If you want me to put £100 on Manchester City winning the league straight away, well, no I wouldn’t. But they will win the league sooner or later.”
