Mike Williamson is happy to bide his time at Portsmouth Football Club.

The defender is yet to make his Premier League bow for Pompey following a £3million summer move from Watford, but he is happy to wait for his chance.

"I didn't expect to come to a Premier League club and walk straight into the side,” said Williamson.

"I spoke to the gaffer before I joined and he made me aware of the situation. The way I look at it, I now have the opportunity to put myself on the bigger stage and I'm enjoying my time here."
