West Ham United football Club have not asked about Antonio Candreva.

The Hammers have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old Livorno midfielder, but reports they are close to agreeing a deal to sign him in January are well wide of the mark.

"There has been no contact,” Candreva’s agent, Andrea Moretti, told TuttoPremier.it.

"It's true that Gianfranco Zola knows Antonio well having coached him in the Italy U21 squad, but to infer from this that we are in negotiations, is a long way away."
