Alberto Aquilani is being tipped to be a big hit at Liverpool Football Club.

The Italian international has been unable to play for the Reds following his £20million summer move from Roma, as he recovers from injury.

However, the midfielder is close to making his bow for Rafael Benitez’s side, and his compatriot, Andrea Dossena, can’t wait to see him in the shirt.

"He has the quality to adapt because he is very clever,” the defender told the official club site. "He understands the football here and knows how to make the right decision on the ball quickly.

“Alberto is very excited about playing for Liverpool and he wants to experience a new kind of football. He is a great player. I can't wait to see him in the Premier League.”
