Foster assured of Manchester United future
01:33 PM 17 October, 2009
Sir Alex Ferguson insists Ben Foster is still England’s best goalkeeper, whilst backing him to have a long future at Old Trafford.

Although the Manchester United boss will drop Foster for the returning Edwin van der Sar against Bolton Wanderers, he still feels the 26-year-old is worth a place in Fabio Capello’s side.

"I still feel he is the best English goalkeeper around," said Ferguson. "He has been outstanding in a lot of things. They are a demonstration of the guy's ability.

“But he still has not had a lot of game time and experience. His injuries have curtailed the progress he was making. He is only going to get better, and there is no question he will be fantastic.”
