Antoine Sibierski has called time on his career after his release from Wigan Athletic in the summer.

The 35-year-old also had spells in England with Manchester City, Newcastle United and Norwich City (on loan), and he also starred in France for Lille, Auxerre, Nantes and Lens.

“It is the end for me," Sibierski told skysports.com. "I have chosen to stop, but I was prepared to do that. I had offers from France, Belgium, Australia even in England but I decided to listen to my family.

"I thought about moving to France seriously, but my wife and my kids have said no way back so I have listened to them. I am looking forward to other things now, but I will still be in football."
