Gallas sale was never an option for Arsenal
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he never once considered offloading William Gallas.
After his infamous meltdown at Birmingham City in February 2008 and being stripped of the captaincy the following season, Gallas was heavily linked with a transfer.
A number of clubs in Italy, including both Milan giants and Juventus, were said to be interested, but Wenger insists he never once thought of selling the 32-year-old.
“Frankly I don’t know [if he wanted to leave],” he said. “Only he knows because he never told me he wants to leave the Club. But I never wanted to lose him."
