Ledley King has hailed the transformation of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

This time last season there were worries of a bitter relegation fight for the Londoners, but Harry Redknapp easily kept them up and they have continued to make rapid progress.

Indeed, Spurs currently lie in third place in the Premier League and have targeted a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, something King believes they are capable of.

“There's more steel in our squad these days,” said the defender. "Last season we were looking at the results of the teams battling to stay up. Now we're celebrating when Chelsea and Liverpool lose.

“It's a lot nicer. After the start we had last season, we knew it was important to do a lot better this time. Now we're up there challenging at the top and I'm delighted."

Only time will tell if Spurs can finally realise their ambition of a top-four finish this season, but there is no doubt that they have made huge progress under Redknapp.
