Birmingham City Football Club are again being linked with Craig Gardner.

The Blues were keen to take the midfielder from rivals Aston Villa in the summer, but they couldn’t find the funds to tempt the player away from Martin O’Neill’s side.

Gardner has yet to have a say in Villa’s first team this season, and he is said to be interested is securing a transfer when the window reopens in the New Year.

Now backed with the cash from Carson Yeung’s takeover, Birmingham have a healthy transfer budget, and the Mirror claim they will renew their interest in Gardner.
