Sam Allardyce slammed his Blackburn Rovers players after a dismal second half in London.

Rovers trailed Chelsea 1-0 at half-time at Stamford Bridge, but the home side stepped up a gear and scored four times in sixteen second half minutes to stroll to a 5-0 win.

“The second half was pathetic,” Big Sam told the official club site. “I didn’t see that coming. We set out stall out to frustrate Chelsea as best we could and it worked very well in the first half.

“But we went pathetically wrong, all the tactics we set out went out of the window. Instead of making themselves difficult to beat they made themselves easier to beat.

“And that is why we got beat 5-0.”
