Carling Cup not a priority for Stoke City
Tony Pulis admits the Carling Cup is not a priority for Stoke City Football Club.
The Potters will be looking to get into the last eight with a victory over Portsmouth on Tuesday night, but their manager admits the competition is not as important as top-flight safety.
"I'll say this quite openly because we will make changes to give players a run. It is our squad which will keep us in the Premiership, not the team,” said Pulis.
"But we won't be fielding a team of kids. We will be picking a team of senior players who will all be very capable of putting on a good performance.
"We've done smashing to win at Leyton Orient and beat Blackpool and we will be going to Portsmouth with the aim of getting into the quarter-finals."
