Birmingham City eye cut-price Boyd
11:00 AM 29 October, 2009
Birmingham City Football Club hope to get Kris Boyd on the cheap in January.

Alex McLeish has made signing at least one more striker a priority in the New Year, as he looks to find someone capable of scoring the goals to keep them in the Premier League.

The takeover from Carson Yeung is expected to give the Scot around £40million to spend when the window reopens, but he hopes to land Boyd on the cheap.

McLeish plans to return to former club Rangers to take the 26-year-old for around £2million, knowing the Ibrox outfit are cash-strapped and the player will soon be out of contract.
