James Collins insists Aston Villa are ready for an assault on the Carling Cup this season.

Having beaten Sunderland on penalties to progress to the last eight on Wednesday, Martin O’Neill’s side could face the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal in the next round.

However, Collins is clearly in buoyant mood ahead of Saturday’s draw, and he told AVTV: "We are delighted to be in the hat. As the manager said, we are just happy to be in the quarter-finals.

"Anyone we get - if we keep playing and defending the way we are, we'll give anybody a game."
