Bolton Wanderers undeserving of 4-0 loss
Gary Megson doesn’t believe his Bolton Wanderers deserved a 4-0 defeat on Saturday.
For the second time in a week Chelsea inflicted the scoreline on the Trotters, who had Jlloyd Samuel sent-off, but Megson believes his players were unfortunate at the Reebok Stadium.
"We had opportunities and we created chances, and competed across the park. Overall, we acquitted ourselves in a really positive manner,” he told the official club website.
“We are bitterly disappointed that we got beat but the manner was the complete opposite. I thought that in the first 43 or 44 minutes we caused them quite a few problems.
"Against any team in the Premier League, it is going to be difficult when you are a man less because of the quality they've got on the ball, including ourselves.
"We came out in the second-half and we kept going, and gave ourselves one or two opportunities but against that quality and an extra man it is always going to be difficult."
