Caldwell could yet have Celtic future
01:57 PM 01 November, 2009
Gary Caldwell could still have a future at Celtic Football Club.

The defender is out of contract at Parkhead in the summer and has been linked with a move to Burnley, where his brother Steven current plays.

Whilst it is expected that Caldwell will leave the Bhoys, chief executive Peter Lawwell has revealed preliminary talks over a new deal have already begun.

"I haven't spoken to Gary's agent for a couple of months,” he said. "We had preliminary discussions and that's where it starts and ends.

"I wouldn't say there was no chance (of Gary staying) but we have to sit down and see whether it is right for Tony (Mowbray) and right for the club and the player."
