Jay Bothroyd admits he is flattered to be linked with Aston Villa Football Club.

Martin O’Neill has been linked with making a January bid for the former Arsenal youngster, but the player himself insists that whilst he is flattered, he is happy at Cardiff City.

“I'm very flattered to be linked with someone like Aston Villa, but I'm happy at Cardiff," Bothroyd told Wales Online. "If you're doing well any player is going to have other teams looking at them.

“I definitely think there are players who can play at the Premier League at this club, including myself, but we are where we are for a reason. At the moment I want to be at Cardiff."
