Gavin McCann is likely to leave Bolton Wanderers Football Club in the New Year.

The 31-year-old midfielder is out of favour at the Reebok Stadium, having started just twice in the Premier League this season, and has recently been training with the reserves.

The Mirror claim Gary Megson has told the player he can leave the Whites when the transfer window reopens, either on loan or on a permanent basis.

McCann began his career at Everton in 1995, and he has also played for Sunderland and Aston Villa whilst in 2001, he earned an England cap in a friendly match against Spain.
