ANDREA DOSSENA is expected to leave Liverpool Football Club in the New Year.

The Italian fullback is hopeful of securing a place in the national side for the World Cup Finals, but he is struggling for regular first team action at Anfield.

Dossena has failed to make a lasting impact since arriving in England from Udinese last summer, although he did score in the famous 4-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

It is believed the 28-year-old is being lined up for a six-month loan transfer to Napoli when the transfer window reopens, with the view to a permanent switch.
