Blackburn Rovers ready to tout McCarthy
02:30 PM 05 November, 2009
BENNI MCCARTHY will likely head abroad when, as is expected, he leaves Blackburn Rovers Football Club in the winter transfer window.

The South African has struggled to nail down a regular first team place at Ewood Park under Sam Allardyce, who admits the striker will probably leave in January.

Portsmouth are said to be interested in the 31-year-old on loan, but Rovers are refusing to sell him to potential relegation rivals and also, they will only listen to permanent offers.

It is unlikely that one of the teams in the Premier League chasing Europe would take McCarthy, meaning he next destination will more than likely be abroad.
