Middlesbrough eager for Johnson stay
KEITH LAMB remains hopeful Adam Johnson will stay at Middlesbrough Football Club.
The 22-year-old winger is out of contract at the Riverside Stadium in the summer, and a host of Premier League sides have been credited with an interest in him.
It has even been suggested that Sunderland have already made an approach, but whilst rubbishing this speculation, Lamb has revealed he still hopes Johnson will stay on Teesside.
"We have had no approach from Sunderland, and nor would we welcome one,” said the Boro chief executive. "Adam Johnson is a Middlesbrough player and we want him to stay."
